Amanda’s passion for physical well-being is obvious from her infectious enthusiasm in her classes and her constant drive to help others get fit and healthy. Alongside the Smart-Fitt classes and personal training, Amanda has been working towards a qualification to become a Sports Massage Therapist. After 2 years of hard work and dedication Amanda is thrilled to have qualified and is looking forward to being able to share her new skills as soon as the current Covid restrictions allow. About Sports MassageSports massage is not just for sports people or those who participate in sport. The varying techniques used in sports massage provide a deep tissue massage that can help with postural conditions and help treat injured muscles. Amanda underwent rigorous training, learning about commonly presented conditions, pathology, special tests required for diagnosis and the specific treatments. Sports massage is great if you are very active and push your body to the limit but it can have just as many benefits for everyone - it can help relax your muscles, fight fatigue, improve flexibility and strength and even improve sleep. Amanda is really looking forward to being able to offer the Sports Massage Therapy service and feels it fits really well alongside her Personal Training qualification as “any little niggles can be sorted out and then I can prescribe an exercise regime to suit.” Watch This Space! As soon as it’s deemed safe, Amanda will begin to offer Sports Massage Therapy sessions as well as the fitness classes and one to one sessions currently available.
