Smart Fitt has set themselves another great challenge for charity. Amanda, her son James and her husband Phil are going to be taking part in a Swimathon challenge to raise as much money as they can for Cancer Research and Marie Curie. Amanda and Phil have pledged to swim 2.5km (100 lengths) each and James is going to swim 5km (200 lengths). The Swimathon 2020 is going to be held from the 27th to the 29th March and Amanda and James will be completing their swim on the 28th March 2020. Raising money for charity Smart Fitt are aiming to raise £300 for Cancer Research and Marie Curie. Any amount you can spare will help them reach their target. You can sponsor them here. Amanda and her family are aiming to do a couple of swim sessions a week to prepare for the event, that’s on top of the multiple exercise classes, running and cycling they take part in already! They are all relishing the challenge and looking forward to completing their swims in March.
What is Swimathon? Swimathon is the worlds’ biggest annual fundraising swim and has helped raise over £50 million for charities since it started. Last year, Swimathon raised an incredible £2.1 million for our charity partners; Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie. This brought the total raised over the 34-year history to just over £52 million for charitable causes. By taking on the Swimathon challenge, we will be joining thousands of people across the UK, striving to achieve personal swimming goals while raising vital funds for these amazing causes. It would be amazing if Smart Fitt could smash their fundraising target and you can help by sharing the Swimathon page with all your friends and family.
