This weeks theme at Total Body Blast was Core and Cardio. Individual core exercises were followed by team cardio games including the playground favourite of “tag”. Team Games and More... Keeping cardio fun and interactive by playing team games encourages us to keep exercising. Team games also help push us to work harder, either because of a competitive streak or because we don’t want to let our team down. Playground games are not just for kids - when we have fun exercising it never becomes a chore. In order to reach our fitness goals exercise needs to be engaging and interesting or we lose our motivation. Core exercises are not just about strong abs. Every Total Body Blast class is based on our clients, their needs and is tailored to get the most out of the workout. Extreme HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) are the exercises used in the Total Body Blast class meaning you get the most out of the workout session. Equipment such as Slam Ball or Dynabands are sometimes used in Total Body Blast and add another dimension to the workout. Essendine Prime Time Club joined in with some parachute exercises at their class on Tuesday afternoon. Using the parachute helps with coordination and upper body, arm and shoulder strength and mobility. It’s also a great, non impact cardio workout.
