Core and Cardio at Total Body Blast

This weeks theme at Total Body Blast was Core and Cardio. Individual core exercises were followed by team cardio games including the playground favourite of “tag”.
 
Team Games and More...
Keeping cardio fun and interactive by playing team games encourages us to keep exercising. Team games also help push us to work harder, either because of a competitive streak or because we don’t want to let our team down. Playground games are not just for kids - when we have fun exercising it never becomes a chore. In order to reach our fitness goals exercise needs to be engaging and interesting or we lose our motivation.
Core exercises are not just about strong abs. Exercises which strengthen the core are essential for overall fitness.
 
A strong core will:
  • Improve posture
  • Help you work harder and more effectively in workouts
  • Improve your balance
 
Building core strength ensures you get the most out of workouts and makes it easier to carry out most physical activities. Core exercises are vital for a well rounded fitness program.

High Intensity Interval Training
Every Total Body Blast class is based on our clients, their needs and is tailored to get the most out of the workout. Extreme HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) are the exercises used in the Total Body Blast class meaning you get the most out of the workout session. Equipment such as Slam Ball or Dynabands are sometimes used in Total Body Blast and add another dimension to the workout.

You’ll meet like minded people with the same passion to get active and improve fitness.

Parachute Exercises at Prime time club

Essendine Prime Time Club joined in with some parachute exercises at their class on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Using the parachute helps with coordination and upper body, arm and shoulder strength and mobility. It’s also a great, non impact cardio workout. The games keep it fun, encourage group coordination and team work.
 
The games the group played were:
  • Mexican Wave
  • Tornado
  • Popcorn

Join us at the next class! Prime Time Club is ideal for anyone who finds regular exercise difficult. Gentle, fun and stimulating exercises which raise the heart rate. Choose from Prime Time Active - a walking aerobics class, or Prime Time Gold- a seated exercise class.

All Prime Time classes are followed by a drink and a chat so it’s a great way to socialise as well as keeping your mind and body active.

  • Prime Time Active, Monday 10:45-11:45 - The Centre, Bourne
  • Prime Time Gold, 10:30-11:30 - The Centre, Bourne
  • Prime Time Gold, 13:30-14:30 - Essendine Village Hall, Stamford

New Classes:
The Croft, Bourne. This is a gated retirement community and the class will be for the residents and their guests only.
 
Newcombe Court, Stamford. This is a private retirement complex and the classes are for residents and their guests only.
